Abstract
The reduction of fossil energy resources and the destructive environmental impacts caused by excessive energy consumption, particularly in the building sector, have highlighted the necessity of paying attention to energy consumption in the country. Studies and calculations regarding energy consumption in Iran show that approximately 30 to 35 percent of the country's total energy consumption is attributed to building usage, particularly public buildings such as educational facilities. Therefore, identifying the indicators and factors that contribute to reducing energy consumption in educational spaces is crucial for managing energy consumption. The research method is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlational in terms of data collection, with an exploratory mixed-method approach. The qualitative research population includes previous studies, and using the meta-synthesis method and Sandelowski and Barroso’s seven-step process, the data were synthesized. In the quantitative section, the statistical population included 30 experts in architecture, design, and energy fields. The measurement tool in the quantitative section was a researcher-made questionnaire, and its validation was conducted through factor analysis using PLS software. The results show that the physical component, with a path coefficient of 0.653, the climate component, with a path coefficient of 0.569, the smart technology component, with a path coefficient of 0.427, and the governmental management component, with a path coefficient of 0.413, were ranked in terms of influence. The indicators of the physical component with the highest impact include form and geometry, location, materials, lighting, natural elements, spatial arrangement, open and semi-open spaces, and color, respectively, which prioritize reducing energy consumption.
