In today's competitive world, the financial performance of companies depends on various factors that influence managerial decisions and the optimal use of resources. Financial flexibility, opportunistic behavior, and managerial ability are among the key factors that can play a critical role in determining the success or failure of companies. This article investigates the impact of financial flexibility, opportunistic behavior, and managerial ability on the financial performance of companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange. To conduct this analysis, financial data from 100 companies spanning from 2016 to 2022 were examined. The results of advanced statistical analyses indicate that financial flexibility and managerial ability play a pivotal role in enhancing corporate financial performance, demonstrating both significant and positive effects. These factors contribute to optimizing financial resource use and improving operational efficiency, leading to better overall performance. On the other hand, opportunistic behavior by managers has been identified as a negative factor that can reduce productivity and lead to financial difficulties. Such behaviors often result in unstable and detrimental decision-making, which adversely affects the financial performance of companies. Opportunistic practices may include short-term profit maximization at the expense of long-term stability, potentially causing financial distress and decreased organizational effectiveness. This study provides substantial evidence of the effects of these three factors on financial performance and can offer valuable insights for managers and investors. By understanding the influence of financial flexibility and managerial skills, as well as the drawbacks of opportunistic behavior, decision-makers can better navigate the complexities of corporate management. The findings not only enhance comprehension of how these variables interact with financial performance but also propose strategies for more effective management of financial resources. Implementing these strategies can mitigate opportunistic behaviors and foster sustainable growth, leading to improved profitability and long-term success for companies. This research thus serves as a guide for optimizing financial strategies and enhancing overall corporate performance.
